Repair Service
Our repair service always provides a quotation on beforehand, with a
fixed price.
We offer you the following possibilities to tune our service to meet your
demands:
Standard Overhaul
The standard service, every complete overhaul starts with, consists of:
1- complete dismantling of the movement
2- thorough cleaning of the parts
3- If necessary, correcting/repairing mechanical defects, (such as worn
out bearings)
4- re-assembly of the movement
5- cleaning of the hands and dial.
On this service, we provide a guarantee of 1 year.
Extra possibilities
It is also possible to choose for a somewhat more expensive overhaul,
that is giving you the extra security of a 5-year guarantee period.
the work being done to your clock, is mainly the same, but there is a
difference in the materials being used. On replacing the bearing
bushes, we use highgrade bronze ones, ensuring a very long lifecycle of
the new bearing.
If the clock is equiped with winding springs, new winding springs are
fitted, ensuring a faultless operation for many years. If your clock does not
have winding springs, but has a rope or snare drive with weights, the ropes/snares
are renewed too.
Extensive Damage
If your clock has damage to its vital parts, (for example: an arbor is bent
or even broken, tooth bent/broken, parts missing) we examine the individual
case to see what can be done about it.
As with all repairs, you get a quotation on beforehand.
Prices
Below you can find a list with standard prices for several types of clocks.
We distinguish between different types, because some types are easier to
service than other. The list has been specified for 1 and 5 years guarantee
period, assuming your clock has 2 springs/weights and no excessive wear on the

History of Peter's Clockshop
About 25 years ago, Peter Nieuwlaat was unemployed for a while.
He had a technical background, and got interested by an old clock,
which once had belonged to his grandmother. Getting it to work again gave
him such an enjoyment that he decided to try to fix some other clocks.
Later on, when he was busy with clocks as a hobby beside his new job,
he decided to follow a clockmaking course. After he passed for the exam,
he also started to repair clocks for other people.
As time went by, Peter got more and more clients who let him repair their
clocks.
He also started selling clocks. A few years later, we moved into a bigger
house,
with room for a shop. And now, the shop has gone online!
